Are you aware that there are several scriptures that seem to indicate that God has a special secret? Have you ever heard a sermon preached about it?

The secret of God first appears in the book of Job. Eliphaz the Temanite specifically asked Job whether he heard about the secret of God.

Job 15:8-9“Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?  What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us?”

Notice that the question Eliphaz wasn’t about the secrets of God. The word is singular and it is preceded by the word “the”, which is makes it a definite article. Eliphaz also doesn’t indicate to know the secret himself. He was just aware of its existence.

Later in the conversation Job had with his friends, Job conveyed that the secret of God was with him in his youth.

Job 29:4-5“As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle; When the Almighty was yet with me, when my children were about me”

Job isn’t the only place where the secret of God is mentioned. David and Solomon both referred to the secret of God.

Psalms 25:14The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.”

Proverbs 3:32“For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.”

David and Solomon declared that the secret of the LORD is with the righteous. If you are born-again, then the secret of God is with you whether you are consciously aware of its existence or not.

However, in the last days, the secret of God will be revealed as the prophet Amos declared.

Amos 3:7“Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”

Similar language to what is found in the book of Amos was also recorded by John in the book of Revelation on the island of Patmos.

Revelation 10:7“But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.”

Although, the word “secret” does not appear in English, the Greek word for mystery is “musterion,” which means “a secret” or mystery. Amos declared that God will do nothing until he reveals his secret to the prophets and John declares that at the seventh trump, the mystery (or secret) of God will be finished as he declared (past tense) to the prophets. Revelation 10:7 is the prophetic fulfillment of Amos 3:7.

Moses wrote in the Torah that the secret things God reveals belong to his children forever.

Deuteronomy 29:29“The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”

Those scriptures establish there is a secret of God, but do the scriptures also reveal the secret? I believe the answer is yes.

Zophar the Naamathite provides a clue in his conversation with Job. He said the secrets of wisom are double.

Job 11:5-6“But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee; And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.”

Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite furthers the notion:

Job 33:14-16 “For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.  In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction”

Job 33:29“Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man”

The Hebrew word translated as oftentimes is “paam,” which also means “twice and thrice.” These scriptures seem to indicate that God doubles or triples visions and dreams, though man is unaware of it. That principle was first revealed when Joseph was brought up out of prison to interpret Pharaoh’s dreams.

Joseph declared to Pharaoh:

Genesis 41:32“And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.”

The secret of God comes down to multiple fulfillments of prophecies. All the visions and dreams recorded in scripture are double prophecies (sometimes more) or have a deeper meaning relating to Messiah. Most of the prophecies have their ultimate fulfillment in the last days revolving around the return of Messiah.

Scoffers in the last days think that all things continue as they always have and are willingly ignorant that God destroyed the world once with water. They are oblivious to the fact that God will destroy the earth again, but next time, it will be with fire.

2 Peter 3:4-6“And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished”

Scripture doesn’t teach that things continue as they always have. The Bible actually teaches that we are to learn lessons from the past because history repeats itself.

1 Corinthians 10:11“Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.”

Isaiah 46:9-10Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure”

Ecclesiastes 1:9-10“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.  Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.”

Ecclesiastes 3:15“That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.”

The key to understanding prophetic things of the future is to learn the biblical history of things which are past. The prophets of God will learn that secret and prophesy along those lines as New World Order adherents embark on the bloodiest persecution of believers the world has ever seen. Scripture describes it as the time of Jacob’s trouble.
