Part One of a two-part series covered planetary flybys of Mars relating to Noah’s Flood, the Tower of Babel, Sodom and Gomorrah, and Mount Sinai. Part Two will explore Joshua’s Longest Day, Sisera and the Song of Deborah, Elijah and the prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel, the long night of Sennacherib, and the Book of Revelation.

One of the most mysterious passages in the Bible is regarding “Joshua’s longest day.”  The nation of Israel was fighting the Amorites. The nighttime modern day technology simply didn’t exist in ancient times, so battles occurred during daylight hours. If the battle wasn’t decided, the warring parties would retreat to their camps for the night and start fighting again the next day.

In Israel’s battle with the Amorites recorded in Joshua 10, Israel gained the advantage, but the sun was setting. In an incredible act of faith, Joshua asked the Lord to extend the day so Israel could have the time needed to vanquish their foes. Otherwise, the Amorites would have been able to regroup to fight the next day.

Joshua 10: 10-13 “And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah. And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword. Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.”

James Lloyd writes in Rampaging Planets: Catastrophism in the Bible, “This is simply one of the most amazing episodes in the entire history of the world, and yet few people realized the enormous significance of this verse. The simple fact is, in order for the “day” to be extended for a period of “about a whole day,” the rotation of the planet would have to be affected. This would have caused an absolutely catastrophic series of events that had to have been global in nature.

Extra-biblical evidence exists that supports the validity of this account. In the 1930’s, a writer named Immanuel Velikovsky reasoned that if there was a “day” that lasted about 24 hours, there must be some record from another part of the world that indicates an extremely long night.

Velikovsky wrote in “Worlds in Collision” that he found in the Mexican Annals of Cuauhtitlan, written in the sixteenth century about the history of the empire of Culhuacan and Mexico, relating that during a cosmic catastrophe in the past, the night did not end for a long time. The event took place in the Western hemisphere on the opposite side of the world as the land of Canaan where Joshua’s longest day occurred.

God created the celestial bodies for signs, for seasons, for days, and for years according to Genesis 1:14-15 “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.”

The solar system is a huge “clock” and the Creator controls the “hands.” In order to change time, a major cosmic disturbance is needed to alter the rotation of the earth.

God changed time again for Hezekiah when he affected the shadow on the sun dial. 2 Kings 20:9 “And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees? And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees. And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.”

The reason Hezekiah said it was a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees is because the shadow on a sun dial always goes down as the day progresses. A planetary flyby is the likely culprit for those time altering events.

There was planetary activity in the battle between Sisera of the Canaanites and Barak of Israel. Deborah, a prophetess who served as a judge of Israel, delivered a word from the LORD to Barak. Judges 4:7 “And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.”  Barak asked Deborah to accompany him. Barak gathered 10,000 men to fight the battle. Judges 4:10 “And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.”

Sisera went out to war with all his iron chariots, which served as great lightning rods for an electrical flux tube. Contrarily, the Israelites had no such armaments. Sisera got off his chariot and ran for his life from the sudden destruction that fell on his armies. Judges 4:13-16 “And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon. And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the LORD hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the LORD gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him. And the LORD discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet. But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.”

Sisera escaped and fled to the tent of Jael, wife of Heber the Kenite. There was peace between the house of Heber and Jabin, the king of Canaan. Sisera arrived physically exhausted and believing he was safe. Jael gave him some milk, which was probably warm and known to be a sleep aid.  He asked Jael to stand guard at the door while he slept, but Sisera would never awaken.

Judges 4:18-21 “And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle. And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him. Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and enquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No. Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.”

The Song of Deborah is recorded in the fifth chapter of Judges. There are interesting clues revealed in the song relating to the battle with Sisera and celestial activity. There are major weather disruptions recorded in Judges 5:4-5 “LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.  The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel.”

The earth trembling may have been an earthquake, the heavens dropping is a way to describe a planet’s orbit as it draws near the earth on a flyby, the clouds dropping water could have been thunderstorms, and the mountains melting may have been the result of an electrical flux tube striking the earth.

Another clue is found a couple verses later. The planetary flybys often coincided with times of war because the astronomers or wise men instructed kings regarding the orbits of the planets and when they were expected to arrive. Pagan nations would incorporate rituals and sacrifice in an attempt to get an “assist” from the planets in helping to defeat their enemies. Animals would be sacrificed, but sacrifices also included women and children as those nations sank deeper into depravity and rebellion.

Nations which rejected YHWH worshipped the host of heaven instead of the one true God who created the planets. They believed the planets were living entities and worshipped them as gods. Deborah’s song relates war with the choosing of new gods.

Judges 5:8 They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?”

Finally, the Song of Deborah speaks very plainly that a planetary flyby occurred, which the Creator used to discomfit Sisera and his armies. All the sacrifices and rites the Canaanites performed were useless. Their false gods, the planets, fought against Sisera instead of helping him.

Judges 5:20 “They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.”

The meaning of that verse is quite literal and easy to miss. It isn’t just a poetic way of describing Sisera’s downfall. The planets (stars) literally fought against Sisera and that was a major reason why he was so tired that a woman could drive a nail through his head without even knowing it was happening. Sisera was running for his life fleeing from electrical flux tubes and whatever other calamities were being caused by the planet Mars as its orbit approached close to Earth.

Josephus adds some details to this event. He writes “So the battle began; and when they were come to a close fight, there came down from heaven a great storm, with a vast quantity of rain and hail, and the wind blew the rain in the face of the Canaanites.”

When the “great storm” occurred, the iron chariots all in one place would have directly drawn the electrical components of the storm, especially since they were by a body of water at the river Kishon according to Judges 4:13.

One other point of irony is that the literal Hebrew meaning of Barak (Baraq), who fought against Sisera, is lightning.

Elijah had a showdown with the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. The “Baal” the prophets worshipped was the planet Mars. The prophets of Baal were emboldened to confront the God of Elijah because of the visible presence of the planet Mars.

1 Kings 18:25-39 “And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under. And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made. And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked. And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them. And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded. And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down. And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name: And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed. And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood. And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time. And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water. And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.”

What is most significant about this record is the extensive use of water. Water is highly conductive of electricity. What Elijah constructed was the equivalence of a lightning rod. The lightning bolts that fell from the vicinity of Mars were directed to the altar and sacrifice specifically because of the water that was present.

Considering that the stones were scorched indicates it wasn’t an ordinary lightning bolt either. Everything was burned up and the water even evaporated because the fire was so hot. That is compelling evidence that the fire from heaven was actually an electrical flux tube from the recently returned planet Mars.

King Hezekiah was fearful of an attack by Sennacherib of Assyria. The servants of Hezekiah went to Isaiah and Isaiah told them that the Lord would send a blast upon the Assyrians.

Isaiah 37:6-7 “And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me. Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.”

The LORD also said that he would defend Jerusalem himself. Isaiah 37: 35 “For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.”

Donald Wesley Patten writes in Catastrophism and the Old Testament: The Mars Earth Conflicts, “Some were killed by vaporization. Some were killed by lethal shock waves. Others were killed by flash burns. None were killed by pursuing Jewish calvary; the city had none. The caged citizens of Jerusalem were too stunned, too surprised, too elated to do anything in terms of military action. They were completely happy just to survive. Celebrations glutted the city’s narrow streets. A good number of citizens praised God their Creator and perhaps made a short trip to the First Temple to compare notes, to worship, to pray a simple prayer of thanksgiving, to sing and to socialize. Shortly, there was dancing in the streets as Jerusalem enjoyed its “picnic time.”

Concerning Sennacherib’s army, some survived. Assyrian cuneiform indicates Sennacherib himself survived, though burned. Such injury is no surprise to a Planetary Catastrophist. He may have been 500 or 600 yards distant from the center of the encampment. Many of the trees below the Tunguska Bolide Explosion were vaporized. A little farther out in radius, the trees were sheared off, leaving only the stumps. Out even a little farther, many of the trees were flash-burnt on one side, but not on the other. Similar features surrounded the Mount St. Helens explosion in the state of Washington recently. Where trees were burnt on one side the temperature of outflowing air masses exceeded 5000° F. Many of the survivors of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear explosions were flash-burnt on one side but not on the other.”

Rabbi Louis Ginzberg cited Talmudic discussions about this occasion as follows:

“With the vast army Sennacherib hastened onward, in accordance with the disclosures of the astrologers, who warned him that he would fail in his object of capturing Jerusalem, if he arrived there later than the day set by them. The death of the Assyrians happened when the angel permitted them to hear the ‘song of the celestials.’ Their souls were burnt, though their garments remained intact.” (Emphasis added)

While the Israelites were arrayed with leather, the iron armor, iron chariots, and iron weapons of the Assyrians served as excellent lightning rods. Their bodies were burnt, but their armor remained intact. It certainly sounds like a fiery mass electrocution.

Isaiah’s account of the devastation of the Assyrian army includes a reference to Tophet. Tophet refers to a place where human sacrifice to Moloch occurred in ancient Israel. The word comes from taph or toph, meaning “to burn,” and hence a place of burning.

Isaiah 30:30-33 “And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones. For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod. And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it. For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.”

Tophet was also known as the Valley of the Sons of Hinnom. By New Testament times, the valley of Hinnom became a dump where bodies and refuse were continually burned. There was a fire there that never ceased. The Greek New Testament transliterated the Hebrew phrase “the valley of the sons of Hinnom” into Gehenna. The Greek word Gehenna is translated into English as Hell. There is a connection between the fiery death inflicted on the Assyrians and the place of everlasting destruction.

Planetary flybys took place in the distant past, but what does it have to do with modern times?

There are biblical, prophetic clues that suggest the planetary orbits are going to change again in the near future and Earth will receive planetary flybys accompanied by the devastation that comes with.

The book of Revelation is full of cosmos activity. Revelation 12 describes a couple of constellations to keep an eye on. Revelation 12:1-4 “And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.”

Thayer’s Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament: Coded With the Numbering System from Stron’s Exhausive Concordance of the Bible defines the word “appeared” in Revelation 12:1 as “to allow one’s self to be seen, to appear.” Strong’s Concordance includes in its definition “to gaze (that is, with wide open eyes, as at something remarkable)” The implication is that this great wonder is going to appear visible to the naked eye.

A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet is the constellation Bethula. You may be more familiar with this constellation as Virgo. Bethula is the Hebrew word for “virgin.” Virgo is Latin for “virgin.” God named all the stars. In every language and culture, the meaning of the word for that constellation is “virgin.” The constellation foretold the virgin birth of Messiah.

Psalms 19:1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”

Psalms 97:6“The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.”

Psalm 147:4 “He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.”

The other constellations of the Zodiac also have prophetic Messianic meanings:

Virgo (the Virgin) – foretold the birth of Messiah through a virgin
Libra (the Scales) – foretold Messiah’s death on the cross paying the price for our sins
Scorpio (the Scorpion) – Christ’s conflict with the Serpent
Sagittarius (the Archer) – Christ’s triumph shooting an arrow piercing Satan
Capricorn (the Horned Goat) – Messiah’s suffering as a scapegoat taking our blame
Aquarius (the water-bearer) – the outpouring of the Spirit, the “living water”
Pisces (the fishes) – Messiah and his followers as fishers of men
Aries (the Ram) – blessings finally given
Taurus (the Bull) – Messiah’s rule and the Day of Judgment
Gemini (the Twins) – Marriage of the Lamb, union of Christ and His Bride
Cancer (the crab) – Messiah’s redeemed possessions that he never lets go, the overcomers
Leo (the Lion) – Messiah’s triumph and rule as King (the Lion of the Tribe of Judah)

The “great red dragon” in Revelation 12:3 is also a constellation called “Draco the Dragon.” Similar to Bethula, Draco will also appear as a wonder in heaven. Draco, however, will bring stars with and cast them to the earth. That could possibly suggest celestial visitors from the cosmos like planets or asteroids.

There are also celestial events associated with the trumpet and vial judgments in the book of Revelation. A few examples are:

Revelation 6:12-14 “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”

Revelation 8:10-11 “And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.”

Revelation 16:8-9 “And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.”

Revelation 16:9 is a tragic prophecy. Even with destruction coming from forces beyond man’s control, people will still be defiant and refuse to turn from their wicked ways. That is the culmination of Peter’s prophecy that people will be willingly ignorant that God created all things by his Word and that he judged Earth once with a global flood.

God will judge the Earth again. This next time, it will be with fire. 2 Peter 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”

There is no good reason to be one of those people described in Revelation 16:9. There is no excuse. Jesus warned about the coming cosmic events in the last days before he was condemned to the cross in a fraudulent trial. Perhaps you’ve read these verses many times, but have never fully comprehended what Jesus was really saying.

Luke 21: 25-28 “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”

The words Luke recorded are quite literal. There will be signs in the heavens, which are likely to include planetary flybys as in the days of old. Men’s hearts will fail them for fear because all of man’s weapons and devices will be utterly useless when the electrical flux tubes wreak havoc on the earth. The only true place of safety will be “under the blood” of Jesus in the shadow of the wings of Almighty God.

There is a problem we all have that stands in the way of that protection. The problem is sin. What is sin? Sin is transgression of God’s law. 1 John 3:4 “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”

  • Have you ever lied? That makes you a liar.
  • Have you ever stolen anything? That makes you a thief.
  • Have you ever taken God’s name in vain? That makes you a blasphemer.
  • Have you ever looked at another with lust? Then, you’re an adulterer. You don’t even need to commit the act.

Jesus said, “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” (Matthew 5:28)

We are ALL guilty. Romans 3:10-12 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”

It is God’s will that all people spend eternity with him, but God is a just judge. He will not allow sin to defile Heaven; otherwise, Heaven would be transformed into a world as insane as this one. 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

In His infinite wisdom, God provided the solution by sending His only begotten Son to die in our place. Through his blood, we can obtain forgiveness of sin through faith in what Jesus Christ has already done for us.

1 John 7-10 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

Nobody else can save you, including you. Heaven can only be entered through faith.  Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”

Faith needs to be confessed. Romans 10:9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

There is no need for “doom and gloom.” Doom and gloom is God’s judgment on the world. That is not God’s plan for those who humble themselves before Him. Those who humble themselves are to receive the kingdom and rule and reign with Jesus.

If you would like to receive the gift of eternal life, trust in what Jesus has already done for you now. Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Pray the following prayer to begin a new relationship with your loving Creator:

Dear God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Savior. Amen.

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
